CybertronCon G1 action figure roundup

All kinds of news and tidbits coming out of Singapore, including quite a few G1-related goodies to look forward to!

As usual, mega-fansite Seibertron.com had the scoop on just about everything coming out of the show, which is the first official Transformers convention in Singapore.  Here’s the breakdown:

Generations, as promised, will continue, but we’re not going to see anything until 2013.  The initial wave will focus on designs from the vidoe game Fall Of Cybertron, including another version of Optimus Prime, Jazz, Shockwave, the five Combaticons (whose colors are still being finalized, so relax until you see the inal product), and Starscream, whose prototype was revealed at the show.  Grimlock was also hinted at!  Supposedly, after this initial wave, we will see more “Earth” styled Generation figs.

Also, it appears that Asia will be getting quite a few exclusive G1-inspired redecos, including Generations Inferno/Grapple as Hot Spot, ROTF Bludgeon/Banzai-Tron as a G2-inspired Megatron, Prime Bulkhead as Brawn, Generations Kup as Swerve, Generations Jazz as Wheelie (?), and many more.  We can only hope some or all of these will see eventual worldwide release, or we’re going to go broke trying to grab ’em all!

Also of note are two new Prime toys of classic characters: a redeco of the upcoming Ironhide toy as Sergeant Kup, and a new, compact car that goind to be Rumble (and, likely, eventually Frenzy).  Lastly, we’re apparently getting sixteen new Kreo sets, which are of course also heavily G1-inspired, including a total of 29 new Kreons.  I guess that line did better than I thought alst year.
